Renowned ultramarathon runner and IRX 2025 Athlete & Influencer, Dean Karnazes is inviting running enthusiasts to join him on an exclusive four-night Greek Running Tour, taking place from 29th April to 3rd May 2025. In collaboration with Dream Travel, this unique experience offers participants the rare opportunity to explore the historic roots of the marathon while running alongside a true legend of the sport.
Timed just days after the TCS London Marathon, the tour is designed as a recovery-paced adventure. Daily runs will be short, scenic, and culturally immersive, with plenty of stops for food, sightseeing, and historical tours. For those seeking more mileage, optional morning runs of varying lengths will be available based on the group’s preferences.
Participants will explore iconic locations such as the Acropolis, Athens Riviera, and the town of Marathon, the very birthplace of the race that inspired the modern marathon. Accompanied by experienced tour leaders, runners will learn about ancient Greek history while enjoying local cuisine and top-tier hospitality. The group will stay at the Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel, a luxurious 5-star hotel that includes spa and massage services for post-run recovery.
Dean Karnazes is no stranger to epic endurance challenges, having run marathons on all seven continents, completed 50 marathons in 50 U.S. states over 50 consecutive days, and twice carried the Olympic torch. A New York Times bestselling author and one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World”, Dean is also a passionate advocate for Greek culture, with deep family roots in the country.
In 2023, he was appointed as Greece’s official Ambassador of Tourism, a role that aligns with his mission to share the spirit and heritage of his ancestral homeland. Speaking about the tour, Karnazes says, “Greece is something that enters your blood and your soul, and your life remains richer from that moment forward.”
Spots are limited, so those looking to experience the cradle of the marathon with one of its greatest ambassadors are encouraged to sign up now.
