Abdullah started running in 2021 as a way to find clarity amidst a difficult time. However, this quickly turned into into something much bigger.
We Spoke to Abdullah about his involvement with the show, and what he is excited about seeing at IRX.
How did your journey into running first begin?
I started running back in 2021 during a tough phase of my life. What began as a way to find clarity and discipline turned into something much bigger, a lifestyle, a mindset, and eventually a mission.
Most memorable moment so far?
Crossing the finish line of my first half marathon. That moment proved to me that consistency pays off and that I was capable of much more than I thought.
One setback you’ve faced, and how you’ve overcome it?
The biggest challenge was just starting out when running felt impossible. I overcame it by showing up daily, no matter how small the run was. It wasn’t about speed, it was about discipline and self-belief.
Running Philosophy in three words?
Discipline – Consistency – Training Smart.
What excites you most about being part of the IRX Programme?
The opportunity to connect with brands, meet the global running community, and share my story with a wider audience.
How do you see events like IRX helping the community?
They connect runners from all over the world and give us a space to share stories, experiences, and innovations that push the sport forward.
What are you most looking forward to at the Expo?
Meeting people, athletes, brands, and other creators, and exchanging ideas and energy.
Dream run location?
Boston Marathon one day. It’s always been a dream.
Favourite race distance?
Half marathon (for now). That’s where I’ve found my flow, though I’m training for my first full marathon this year.
Go-to ritual before a big race?
Prayer, visualisation, and making sure I’m properly fuelled.
