IRX launches Run to Reforest Challenge

With just weeks to go, the running world is gearing up for a European first. The International Running Expo (IRX), powered by SCOTT Sports, is a two-day event dedicated to the running industry. Taking place on 4-5th November at RAI, Amsterdam, IRX brings together thousands of professionals from brands to athletes, media to retailers and influencers to industry leaders. Cultivating opportunities to converge, connect and collaborate, showcasing innovation and shaping the future of running.

Raccoon Media Group, organisers of IRX are thrilled to announce a new challenge ‘Run to Reforest’ that supports their conscious commitment to sustainability using the Active Giving app – a platform that transforms physical activity into funding for environmental projects.

Sophie Ferrier, Senior Marketing Manager on IRX comments: “I’m especially proud that we are working with Active Giving on this initiative. Championing sustainability is intrinsic to the Raccoon Media Group ethos and this challenge is something that the whole International Running Expo community can get involved in to help us make a global impact on people and planet. The aim of #RuntoReforest is for us to collectively cover 2025km on foot in the week leading up to IRX. For every kilometre completed a tree will be planted. Anyone signed up to the expo will receive details of how to get involved and I look forward to seeing their activities shared on socials.”

“We are excited to be working with The International Running Expo”, comments Laurent Petit, Co-Founder of Active Giving. “The app is ideal for collective challenges such as this. Participants can track activities with GPS, manually enter workouts, or sync data from Strava. I founded Active Giving in 2020 after experiencing first-hand the power of sport to unite, bring communities together and support social and environmental projects. It will be especially cool to possibly see some of the running legends attending IRX get involved in the challenge and use the app”.
